25 Micklegate Bar

Did you know?

This image of Micklegate Bar was produced using a Leica C10 laser scanner which is capable of recording 50,000 points of data per second at a range of 300 metres.

York Archaeological Trust was formed in 1972 to record York’s important above and below ground archaeological remains and to make this knowledge available to everyone. Forty years on YAT uses science and innovation to bring the past to life, from facial reconstructions that can be seen in the JORVIK VIKING CENTRE to laser scanning York’s historic buildings.

Reproduction in any form of any of the images on this website is strictly prohibited.
